Gap Standers Used as Spit

The Bible calls us out in Ezekiel 22:30 a verse that happens to be of great significance to the Body of Christ. Some people say that God doesn’t need us to accomplish His work. However, this verse says "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."
The next verse goes on to say what will happen if we do not step up. "Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD."

What God is saying is that if a soul is not led in the right direction He will pour out His shame upon them and their punishment will be eternal damnation. "Their own way" is referring to their sin, the sin that is not repented of in their life because no one was there to show them which way to go.

I heard a pastor say once, "Someone’s victory is relying on your obedience." Think about that just for a minute. If you feel led to speak a word to someone and you are obedient and sensitive He could use you to save that person at that specific appointed time.

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is in Matthew Chapter 8 vs. 23-27 where the people brought a blind man unto Jesus. It reads as follows, "And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. He looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that He put His hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.”

The Bible calls us to be the salt of the Earth. We are placed in a position to lead people to a governed body for the sake of Christ. I don’t care if they go to your church or not, this is not a competition. It is our duty as Christians to point them in the right direction to a place where they can grow and learn the Word. They may first enter in with blurred vision but faith comes by hearing the Word taught.

We are made from the dust of the earth and we shall be returned to the dust of earth that of which is our flesh when we die (Ecclesiastes 12:7). Did you know that our saliva is made up of salt components? I don’t find strange, Matthew 5:13 "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."

What God is basically saying here is this, if we have lost our desire to lead people to Christ and we are not standing in the gap who else will? How will He share His message to a lost and dying world, unless we point people in His direction?Ephesians 5:2 "And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour."

Jesus spit and touched his eyes once and his vision was blurry. Since we are the salt (saliva) and the vessel of dust in which we carry the treasure of Jesus, God wants to use us to create that first touch. The second time Jesus touched his eyes he used only His hand and the man could see completely clear. Pastors, Evangelists, Preachers, Teachers and Prophets, they are there to open their eyes by faith, by simply touching their eyes with the Word so that they can move forward in this walk with clear vision.

When this man whose sight was restored returned to his town people saw that he was made new. Can others see a difference in you since your first touch from Christ? The Bible says that only God can remove the blinders from a man’s eyes. Have you ever thought we may very well be those blinders because our life does not reflect a difference to the world? Once He moves you He has a tool to move someone else. If you need a second touch from God to be made new in Him step out in faith today and you will see a world of difference, literally.
