The Best of Mark Schultz Review

The Bible says in Matthew 12:34 that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. In the case of Mark Schultz, this scripture could not be more accurate. Not only is Mr. Schultz a gifted psalmist, he is a man of integrity who puts his faith into action. He is moved through personal testimonies through everyday people like you and me and has the unique gift to weave those into lyrically emotive messages.

April of 2011 Mark released his eighth album The Best Of Mark Schultz. Many of the chart toppers you will recognize as songs that inspired and refreshed your spirit through times of doubt, heartache and circumstantial situations that left you feeling as if God was no longer in your corner.

Along with these familiar tunes you will also run across a new Christmas song titled When Love Was Born that can only be found on this particular release. You Are A Child Of Mine comes out throwing punches that will have you singing right along with the chorus even if it is the first time you have ever heard it.
Broken And Beautiful, the second track on the release is a reassurance that God wants us to come to Him no matter what shape we are in because He sees us as His beautiful children. I am slams the powerful image of Christ into your heart with passion and fervor.
A few of the more upbeat selections include, I Have Been There, I Am The Way, Love Has Come and one I was not so familiar with, Running Just To Catch Myself. I must say the latter of these four caught me off guard because it did not sound like Mark at all to me. It seems to create frustration in me because I can relate to the constant feeling of rushing and seeming to not have enough time to get things done. That being said, you may find comfort in knowing you are not the only one who faces all the little irritations that he mentions.

If you want to support the tissue business you can skip ahead and listen to the four tear-producing tunes that were birthed from true stories. He’s My Son, is about a man pleading with God to allow his son to be healed of cancer and live a normal life.

The third selection, What It Means To Be Loved, was inspired by parents who were expecting a child and were told the baby would not live after birth. Letters From War, reaches into the heart of those who have loved ones who have gone off to protect our freedom. Last fall, Mr. Schultz released his book Letters From War , which He felt led to write shortly after the song.

Walking Her Home, was influenced by a couple who used to be neighbors with him. They shared the story of their first date with Mark and he visited them both in a nursing home. If you have ever seen the movie The Notebook you understand this rare form of love that binds two hearts together that seems to even keep them side by side even as they pass on from this life.

Several fan favorites are found in the inspiring messages of strength and hope crafted in the beautiful ballads He Will Carry MeHe Is, Back in His Arms and When You Come Home. It’s not easy as we walk through this life facing trials and tribulations, however knowing He will carry us through no matter what we face is a comfort we all find refuge in.

Each of us at times have drifted away but there is no place like being back in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. In the comfort of His embrace He continues to transform us. When You Come Home may be difficult for you to listen to if you have recently lost someone.
However, if you are one who finds peace in knowing one day we will see those we love again it will encourage you. The vocals that Mark delivers on this song are fantastic, like that would be some kind of shock right?

The last song I want to mention is Remember Me. One thing is for certain, everyone will remember Mark Schultz for generations to come. His melodies fill our hearts with praise and thanksgiving in times of sorrow and in times of gratitude. Mark provides us with an arsenal of psalms to encourage us through good and bad times. He is a musical missionary who continues to amaze us with heartfelt masterpieces. The Best of Mark Schultz consists of 17 tracks that is a blessing waiting to happen for you.

If you are one who enjoys meditation you should also pick up his ninth album release
Renaissance, which is entirely instrumental.
